🌬️ Duvet salvation
This thing looks like it should be some as-seen-on-TV piece of shit, but I’m genuinely surprised to say it’s not, and it’s great. I’m a hot sleeper and this is the first solve I’ve found to sleep comfortably with a duvet in the summer (or any time of year, really).
I went for the Mini. It’s cheaper than things like Eight Sleep, and doesn’t run the risk of leaking water in your bed because it’s just blowing air (not AC) through a zoned pocket in the top sheet. (Definitely buy the sheet too; it diffuses the air over you.)

Fun read about how OpenAI investigated why ChatGPT and Codex kept developing a suspicious interest in goblins, gremlins, trolls, and pigeons. An outdated nerdy personality profile and reinforcement learning rewards convinced the AI that creature talk was charming.

A 40-gram autonomous drone that patrols outdoor spaces for mosquitoes, finds them with ultrasonic sonar, and turns them into tiny propeller confetti. The actual pitch is chemical-free mosquito control around your house, with a base station where it recharges between patrols. Yes, please!

Hermes or OpenClaw sound a bit too nerd-core complicated for you? The rate at which AI tools are changing is absolutely wild, and that’s where Muse comes in. It’s hot of the press as the latest Cool New Thing™ in AI that doesn’t require a degree in dork to set up.
If you’re at all curious what a personal agent is like, just download the app (it’s free), name your buddy, assign it an avatar (I went with a dinosaur), and it’ll walk you through the rest. I’ve been jamming with my agent, Astro, to do some vacation research and book restaurant reservations within the first 15 minutes of setting it up. Overall, I’m really liking the experience for how turnkey and smooth they’ve made it.
🏠 Tool Time
I got this as a gift and it’s awesome. I’ve never had a multitool before, but this has a killer knife, the best pair of compact scissors I’ve ever used, and a great range of built-in reversible screwdrivers. But don’t worry: I’m not going to pretend I’ll be doing much more than opening packages or fixing random shit around the house.
🤠 Server ranch in the sky
AI data centres in space are a very real future (and a smart early investment, I’d wager) that also address the growing concerns of data centres on Earth. The challenge of cooling and power is mostly solved by shooting them up into space, where it’s always sunny (and always cold). Cowboy Space is pitching “Stampede,” a constellation of solar-powered orbital GPU data centres, where the rocket’s upper stage becomes the satellite. They also have killer branding by none other than Smith & Diction.
🗺️ Moodboard sovereignty
Atlas takes most of what I loved from Eagle and wraps it in a much more slick, native macOS package for storing your visual inspiration. It’s got a companion iOS app coming soon, and that will be pretty perfect to close the loop. They also just added Alt+Click to quickly save any images or videos and there’s an MCP so you can get your AI to do all the tagging for you.
🖥️ Linux with a spoiler
This is a pretty cool new attempt to bring Linux to the masses, with AI as a first-class citizen. Anything you want to change or customize is just a prompt away. I installed it on my MacBook the other day and have been enjoying how snappy it all feels.
It’s an opinionated version of Linux from DHH that ships with a bunch of great things out of the box, can run on just about any machine, and has massive financial backing from just about every tech industry heavy-hitter.
👾 Hell yeah, StarCraft is back
…as an open-world shooter? Except “back” means 2030 and “trailer” means an extremely polished film with no gameplay. It’s still cool as hell though, as are all the Blizzard cinematics.
I played a ton of StarCraft as a kid and this is pure nostalgia at its finest.

Someone rebuilt the Silo (from the Apple TV show and book series) as an interactive 3D cutaway: 144 levels, 288 stair turns, 432 bridges, and every recognizable location from the wallscreen down to the generator and the digger. You can orbit the entire kilometre-deep structure, jump between rooms, or switch to a flooded Silo 17. Looking forward to the final season!
